Procedure And Obligations
The evaluation procedures, audit processes, and the rules governing the issuance, maintenance, extension, or reduction of the scope of certification, as well as the protocols for the suspension, withdrawal, or refusal of Halal certification, adhere to the ISO 17021 standard.
WHAD ITALIA and its clients shall enter into a legally binding agreement for the provision of Halal certification services. This agreement delineates the responsibilities of both WHAD ITALIA and the client, mandating that both parties fulfill all obligations related to certification and ongoing monitoring.
The client grants WHAD the right to conduct periodic audits of production facilities and/or tests. WHAD will also accept the rights conferred by other certification bodies to execute audits and/or tests with the client’s consent. WHAD requires its clients to:
– Comply with all stipulations delineated in the standard selected for certification, the Agreement, the Certification Scheme, and the Halal Certification Application Form. Should there be alterations in the requirements of the standards or in the procedures of the certification body, clients are obligated to amend their activities/production in accordance with the newly communicated (modified) requirements from WHAD ITALIA;
– Implement the necessary measures for the execution of periodic and certification audits (with the inclusion of observers, if deemed necessary), which encompass inspections of the production infrastructure, personnel interviews, documentation verification (including the analysis of complaints/appeals received), execution of appropriate tests, and inspection of the Client’s subcontractors;
– Ensure that certified products are consistently manufactured in alignment with the scope of certification and the pertinent standards as specified in the Agreement and/or the Halal certificate;
– Utilize the issued Halal certificate and the Halal logo/mark solely for the certified products, refraining from employing the Certificate in any misleading or unauthorized manner, or in ways that could potentially jeopardize the activities and/or reputation of the Certification Body;
– Guarantee that all links and references to product certification in the media conform to WHAD requirements;
– Suspend the utilization of the Halal Certificate and the Halal logo/mark, as well as the dissemination of information regarding the availability of the Halal Certificate, immediately upon the expiration, suspension, or revocation of the Halal Certificate, and act in accordance with the requirements specified in the contract;
– In the event of modifications to the scope of Halal certification, promptly update the Halal certification information across all sources that contain such information;
– Immediately notify the Certification Body of any changes that may influence the ability to comply with the certification requirements;
– When providing a copy of the Halal Certificate to others, ensure that it precisely matches the original Halal Certificate issued;
– When utilizing and disseminating information pertaining to the issued Halal Certificate or its copies and/or the Halal Mark, these must be employed exactly as articulated in the original documents;
– Adhere to all requirements stipulated in the certification scheme and/or the Certification Agreement regarding the use of the Halal mark/logo and information relevant to the certified product (the contract is executed prior to the issuance of the certificate).
The Client’s responsibilities encompass maintaining comprehensive records of all complaints/appeals received pertaining to compliance with Halal requirements and documenting all actions undertaken in relation to the received complaints/appeals. Documentation concerning complaints/appeals must be made available to the Certification Body upon request.
The certification cycle is triennial (excluding any batch certifications), with interim audits scheduled for the second and third years. Unannounced audits are permissible
